Christopher Pincher MP has been appointed housing minister in the cabinet reshuffle, replacing Esther McVey.
Pincher moves across from his current role as minister if state for Europe and America, which he was appointed to in July last year.
He has also been an MP since 2010 and served as deputy chief whip.
Last week, Esther McVey was sacked from the role after less than a year in post, releasing a statement on Twitter, she said: “ I’m very sorry to be relieved of my duties as housing minister.
“I wish my successor the very best and every success. I’m very grateful to the Prime Minister for having given me the opportunity to serve in his government and he will continue to have my support from the back benches.”
Robert Jenrick MP has retained his role in the reshuffle and will continue as secretary of state for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
