Former president of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA Propertymark), Mark Bentley has been appointed consultant at start-up company Exp, which launches this week (15 November).
Run by Adam Day, USA based, Exp made an announcement in June that it would be launching its independent operation in the UK, but formal recruitment began six weeks ago.
Day said “dozens” of agents have responded to his social media posts as he expects many more to sign up after a formal launch in London on Friday.
Bentley is set to provide “invaluable insight and guidance to new agents joining eXp with his knowledge and experience in the industry.” He will also be operating his own estate agency as “powered by Exp Realty.”
Bentley has worked as an estate agent for over 40 years and served as President of NAEA Propertymark.
Commenting on his appointment, Bentley said: “I was also impressed that only people with good estate agency experience are allowed to join eXp UK and that they must adhere to the NAEA Propertymark and TPO Code of Practice.
“As part of my involvement in the business, I will certainly be encouraging those agents joining eXp UK, to become members of NAEA Propertymark.”
Day added: “Agents have joined from online, hybrid and traditional agency backgrounds, having held positions ranging from senior negotiator, through to the likes of Ian Dobrin, who previously had his own estate agency business and more recently was the recruitment director at The Connells group – all have joined as self-employed agents looking to grow the business.”
